CEECSTE Tech Salon: “Zero-Carbon Vision—New Era Building Ecology Seminar” Successfully Held in Budapest

On February 4, 2025, the “Zero-Carbon Vision—New Era Building Ecology Seminar” was successfully held in Budapest. The event was co-hosted by the China-CEEC Science and Technology Exchange Association (CEECSTE), OPEN Architecture Hungary, and Denmark’s NORDIQ Engineering Consultancy. The seminar brought together experts and industry representatives to engage in in-depth discussions on zero-carbon buildings, engineering consultancy, green technologies, and international cooperation, exploring how the construction industry can achieve technological breakthroughs and industrial upgrades in the context of sustainable development.

A key focus of the seminar was the integration of OPEN’s steel structure technology with NORDIQ’s engineering consultancy expertise to control carbon emissions throughout the building lifecycle. Practical applications were examined in areas such as modular construction, prefabricated steel structures, renewable energy integration, and the use of green materials. Participants also exchanged ideas on Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, green construction management, and international certifications like LEED and BREEAM, aiming to promote the standardization and marketization of low-carbon buildings.

The seminar concluded with several consensus points, including strengthening connections between European and Chinese markets, advancing pilot projects such as green industrial parks and low-carbon demonstration building clusters, and establishing cooperative recommendation mechanisms to achieve resource complementarity and market synergy. This seminar laid a solid foundation for future international cooperation in the field of zero-carbon buildings, with all parties committed to continuing project implementation and jointly contributing to the global carbon neutrality goals.
