Association for Science and Technology Exchange
On February 9, 2025, the 3rd “Shandong–Hungary Spring Festival Gala” was successfully held at the Kozármisleny Cultural Center. The event was co-hosted by the Kozármisleny Municipal Government and the China-CEEC Science and Technology Exchange Association. Over 200 guests from China and Hungary, local residents, and members of the Chinese community gathered to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.
The event officially started at 14:00 local time. Dr. Pohl Marietta, Mayor of Kozármisleny; Ms. Hu Qiao, Director of the Consular Section at the Chinese Embassy in Hungary; and Prof. Wang Zhijiang, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute in Pécs, delivered opening remarks. They highlighted the positive role of the event in promoting cultural exchange between China and Hungary. Dr. Jiao Chao, President of the China-CEEC Science and Technology Exchange Association and President of the Hungary Branch of the Shandong Business Alliance, expressed his commitment to supporting cooperation between the two cities.
The event featured a wide variety of performances and cultural experiences that brought the spirit of the Chinese New Year to life. At the cultural booths, visitors learned to write the Chinese character “福” (blessing), created traditional paper cuttings, made fish-shaped lanterns, and tried on Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing). Activities such as shuttlecock kicking and dragon dancing added to the festive atmosphere. The tea art area showcased traditional Chinese wellness culture.
A special highlight was a live demonstration by Mr. Yu Fengbin, a renowned Chinese artist and recipient of the State Council Special Allowance, who painted a Chinese landscape on site, attracting great attention from visitors.
Participants also enjoyed a “stamp collection” activity where they could exchange stamps for small prizes. Volunteers provided thoughtful services throughout the event.
This event served as a meaningful platform for China-Hungary friendship and cultural exchange. The China-CEEC Science and Technology Exchange Association will continue to promote cooperation in science, technology, and culture between the two countries, and looks forward to building “Shandong–Hungary Spring Festival Gala” into a well-recognized cultural brand in Central and Eastern Europe, showcasing the charm of Chinese culture to the world.
