Central and Eastern Europe - China
Association for Science and Technology Exchange
On May 10, the Central and Eastern Europe (Hungary) Entrepreneurship Project Matchmaking Conference was successfully held at the Binhai-Zhongguancun Science Park. The event was organized by the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology, jointly hosted by the Central and Eastern Europe-China Science and Technology Exchange Association and the National Overseas Talent Offshore Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base (Tianjin Binhai New Area). Over 20 participants attended, including Zhang Wei, Director of the International Department (Preparatory) of the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology; Samuel Gil, Vice President of the Central and Eastern Europe-China Science and Technology Exchange Association; representatives from the China Northern Talent Market Energy Construction Center; Hungarian startup representatives; technology companies from the park; and university technical experts.
During the meeting, four Hungarian projects, including “Hanmo Green Core,” were presented in a roadshow session. The “Hanmo Green Core” project showcased the integration of smart desert ecological restoration and intelligent agriculture, using innovative bio-formulations to improve soil structure and fertility—effectively addressing issues such as soil pollution and salinization.
A project on portable fire extinguishing devices demonstrated the application of advanced materials in fire prevention, suppression, and explosion resistance for power batteries, which has attracted significant attention in Europe. The interactive smart art wall project highlighted how innovations in material processing technology have greatly enhanced the performance and adaptability of decorative materials.
Another project, “Zhixing CloudLink,” focused on real-time multilingual AI translation and cross-border aggregated payment technologies aimed at solving key challenges faced by international travelers.
Following the roadshow, representatives from Chinese tech firms, including Huafang Technology, Langteng Technology, and Kexin, engaged in active discussions with the Hungarian project teams on technical models and potential cooperation opportunities.
The head of the Offshore Innovation Base gave a detailed presentation on “offshore” solutions tailored to attract overseas talent and enterprises to Tianjin. Fu Wei, Deputy Director of the Energy Construction Center at the China Northern Talent Market, delivered the concluding remarks.
This matchmaking event successfully opened a new channel for China-Hungary scientific and technological cooperation through a three-pronged approach: technology demonstration, precise matchmaking, and ecosystem empowerment. The Central and Eastern Europe–China Science and Technology Exchange Association will continue to serve as a bridge through its domestic representative offices. Leveraging its overseas network and professional expertise, the association is committed to identifying and introducing high-quality international talent and cutting-edge technologies to support local industrial upgrading and drive innovation with a global perspective.
