On December 17, local governments from the Balaton region and Chinese diaspora organizations in Hungary held a cooperation exchange meeting at Euro-Conti Tech Park, alongside a working session of the Balaton China Health, Tourism, Education and Technology Alliance.
Mayors and municipal representatives from several Balaton-area cities, together with leaders of Chinese community organizations, industry associations and businesses, discussed practical cooperation in health tourism, education exchange, technology collaboration and youth engagement, building on existing partnerships.
Sajcz Adrián, Vice-Chair of the Somogy County Assembly, reaffirmed the region’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with China in tourism, education and innovation. Participating municipalities presented their local strengths and expressed interest in advancing concrete projects.
During the meeting, Jiao Chao, President of the Central and Eastern Europe–China Science and Technology Exchange Association, introduced the Hungary–China Youth Exchange Month Initiative, highlighting youth engagement as a long-term foundation for local-level cooperation.
The meeting also confirmed the appointment of Androsics Ferenc as Secretary General of the Alliance, further strengthening its operational framework and supporting sustained China–Hungary local cooperation.
